Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine said that, “walking is the best medicine”. More than 2,500 years later, that saying still adheres with truth. Both ends of the spectrum are advocating it as the key to better health. After being disillusioned for many years on brilliantly packaged programs that have left most of its devotees virtual hunchbacks, man is rediscovering the simple joys and profound benefits of a quiet stroll. Of course, various writers vary in their approaches to exercise. Some say that a little walking done daily is enough while others call for more vigorous but not excessive daily walk.
