1.0 INTRODUCTION Autism involves a brain development disorder that is characterized by weakened social relations and communication. This behavior is restricted but repeats itself severally; it starts before a child is three years old. This disorder also includes related conditions like Asperger syndrome which have milder signs and symptoms than Autism. Autism has a physically powerful genetic base since it has a complex genetic feature. It attacks about four times as many boys as girls. The number of people with autism has increased in the recent decade and factors like discrimination, inequalities and marginalization has dramatically affected families due to stereotype caused by it. 1.1 AUTISM STEREOTYPES There is a damaging misunderstanding about autism, people think that children suffering form this condition are simply badly behaved, on the other hand others think that most victims have special abilities in mathematics and art. They reported in this journal of the Association for Psychological Science and the findings not only speak to the level of autistic intelligence but also to the nature of autistic intelligence. Even though it is probably right that autistic’s possess extraordinary perceptual skills and that they require unique cognitive pathways for problem solving and their intelligence clearly goes beyond rote memory and perception which include complex reasoning ability.
