QUEEN VICTORIA BUILDING 1.0 ABSTRACT Queen Victoria Edifice has been touted as the most striking shopping mall world over. The structural blueprint is a reminiscent of Byzantine design. It was constructed in 1898 to serve as a surrogate to the initial Sydney bazaar. Subsequently, the edifice incorporated a gig foyer, which became City Library later. In 1930, the structure was remodeled and dedicated to a multiplicity of factions. Forty six years down the line the building was completely remodeled as a shopping mall, which housed more than 200 shops. The reconstructions, by the Malaysian corporate Berhad Ipoh, were toweringly ingenious and reflective that embodies a transitional architectural charm. The paper will evaluate the historical context of the edifice; closely examine the exterior as well as the interior attributes.
