ISSUES ON MARINE POLLUTION ALONG THE COASTAL REGIONS AND THEIR IMPACTS TO THE HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM INDUSTY

This paper discusses the human induced stresses, the pollutants on costal areas and their impacts to the hospitality and tourism industry. It aims at looking at ways in which these human induces stresses can be reduced and ways of reducing marine pollution and contamination.

Anteprima della tesi: ISSUES ON MARINE POLLUTION ALONG THE COASTAL REGIONS AND THEIR IMPACTS TO THE HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM INDUSTY

CURRENT ISSUES ON MARINE POLLUTION ALONG THE COASTAL REGIONS AND THEIR IMPACTS TO THE HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM INDUSTY 1.0 ABSTRACT The coastal marine environments are dominated by coral reefs, sea grass beds and mangroves, with large expenses of sandy substrates which emerge from rivers, lakes, streams e.t.c The coast is made up of raised Pleistocene reefs on coastal plains and hills of sedimentary origin, which support native dominated by scrub bush and remnant pockets of the forests. The marine environment is characterized by warm tropical conditions varying at each surface between 25oC and 31oC during the year, stable salinity regimes and moderately high nutrient levels from terrestrial runoff and ground water. Fringing reef crests dominate the most of the costal regions thus forming a natural barrier to the wave energy from the ocean. ...

... discharged into the sea and they end up having diverse effects on human health, food resources, commercial interest, amenities, wildlife conservation or ecosystems in general.

It is very important to know the categories of pollutants or addition so as to know how to deal with them without causing any harm to most importantly human health. Implementing the methods of controlling and treatment of pollution will have a great impact to the marine environment and it will enhance its sustainability.
