To obtain a broader understanding of this topic, it will be necessary to examine an industry using the five forces model in addition to using other strategic frameworks of SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) and PEST (Political, Economic, Social, and Technological) analysis. This theory can also be used with the Resource-Based View (RBV) in order for the firm to develop a much more complete strategy.
