Background & Introduction Otitis media with effusion is a common problem in school going children (5-12 years). OME has a potential to carry on chronically and to cause impairment in hearing and speech development in the absence of early diagnosis and treatment. Tympanostomy tube insertion is recommended for persisting OME and in high-risk patients for complications. However the role of doing adenoidectomy routinely in the same setting is controversial. Studies describing clinical profile, role of investigative tools in diagnosing OME and outcome following surgery from developing countries are rare. The aim of this study was to determine the clinical profile and compare the outcome in hearing improvement ,following Nonsurgical versus Tympanostomy and adenoidectomy done simultaneously in a Random case study of children aged 5 to 12 years and presenting with OME and persistent hearing impairment ...... followup.
