India is one of the major economies of the world. over the years India has emerged as a a major economic power. however the growth in healthcare has been a skewed one.effort for preventive and social healthcare has been low. India still has a poor human development index in term of health. The maternal and child health is still poor with abysmally high Infant mortality rate and inability to provide comprehensive ante natal care. accessible healthcare is still a dream in many parts of the country. This article is an attempt to look at the problems in healthcare system of India.
