History: Hadrian’s Wall Abstract In order for any society or community to develop and grow faster, it requires a high level of security. Since ancient times, many rulers including chiefs, kings and emperors maintained high security level so as to protect their respective societies from both external and internal attack. Emperor Hadrian is one of the emperors who maintained high security level in his empire. Despite that early time, he managed to build a large a large wall using stone and timer around his empire so as to ensure maximum protection and security. This is the wall which came later to be known as Hadrian’s Wall.
