Anteprima della tesi: Oklahoma City Bombing

Americans of all ages and from all walks of lives clearly remember this fateful day, the 19th April, 1995. A day when lives were lost and many more left injured by a single explosion. It was at around 9: 03 AM on that very day that Oklahoma City Bombing happened at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, claiming 168 lives and physically injuring more than 600 people (Hoffman, 1998). Until the 11th, September 2001 terrorism attack on the World trade Centre, the Oklahoma City Bombing stood out as the biggest domestic terror attack in the United States of America. All the affected were innocent people who fell victims of the hate terrorism’s hostility. The primary suspect for the tragedy was Timothy McVeigh, a Gulf War Veteran, who drove and parked a Ryder truck, loaded with a deadly bomb constructed using fertilizer and fuel oil, at the state building. He planned the terror attack with Terry Nichols. Both of them were arrested and convicted. The attack came about as result of many other factors and many parties were involved other than Timothy and Terry, worse still the affected live to remember the incidence and many effects it left behind; the fear and grief, loss of security ...

... condemned and still condemns the act, it is alleged that he was aware of the bombing before it occurred or he approved it himself (Mazarr, 2007). The Americans did not know of this and probably most of them still do not because of the trust that they and in their president and their government. The allegations were pointed out at the government as having been planning the bombing to as a way of framing the militia movement. Another reason behind the government’s involvement was believed to be its urge of enacting antiterrorism legislation through the use of McVeigh as a scapegoat.
