Corporate Social Responsibility of British Petroleum (BP)

BP has become part of the local community and it has impacts and on the vicinity, and several obligations to fulfill which are self imposed and legal. One of the self imposed obligations is extensive communication as well as personal contact. A range of communication channels is employed by BP which includes regular meetings, free phone calls, open houses, publications and site visiting. It is considered that for tangible benefits to be felt by the project area communities there is need for serious implementation of project’s core values. These include consultation especially when the local communities are supposed to contribute towards the project such as land for oil exploration which many times call for population displacement.

BP considers measure of lagging indicators of process safety.
