The Effect of Foreign Exchange Rate in the Export/Import Industry
Trade is not only about economics. It should also be underpinned by moral concerns. In the prevailing world economy, rich and poor do not compete on equal terms: the benefits of trade accrue disproportionately to the rich. In my point of view it’s not that we need a world trading system which enables rich and poor to compete on equal terms. Instead I believe that in an unequal world it is our responsibility to create a global trading system which explicitly and deliberately favors those who are currently severely disadvantaged, one which gives priority to resolving the problems of acute poverty before it begins to create systems based on fairness and equality of outcome.
