During the early days of computing, in which DOS is the most widely used operating system, computer users were restricted to execute their program by typing commands at the keyboard in a command-line interface. This type of interface were not exactly user-friendly or convenient for the common users. It is less intuitive. So, the need for a more easy to use and convenient interface was prevalent. In 1984, Apple Computer, Inc. released the Macintosh, which offered the first commercially successful introduction of Graphical User Interface (GUI). Programs with graphical user interface enables computer users to easily execute commands by clicking on pictures, words, or icons with a pointing device called a mouse.
