Alzheimer’s disease is characterized by loss of intellectual and social abilities which can result to a steady decline in the mental and memory abilities of an individual especially at old age (Gaines & Whitehouse, 2006). At old age, a healthy brain tissue degenerates, a condition referred to as dementia and thus it is not a part a normal aging process. It is estimated that about 5% of people above the age of 65 have Alzheimer’s disease with about 50% of people aged above 80 years have the disease ...
