When comparing the differences between these texts it is essential to consider how textual connections and stylistic approaches have been utilised to contemporise Shakespeare’s original tragedy. Through explanation and appropriation of characters, themes and motifs the film production process becomes a means of exploring and accessing the depths of Shakespeare’s tragedy. Furthermore an analysis of conventions, characters and themes presented in the film allows for a comparison of the connections between the two texts.
