Explain the rise and ascension into power of Hitler and the Nazi Party from 1920 to 1933. The end of The First World War left Germany sucked dry of all dignity and social rank. The German people were left with a feeling of injustice as they saw Woodrow Wilson’s Fourteen Points overlooked and not brought to action. The inflation of the German mark added to the sense of desolation that the general public were feeling, and Stresemann’s withdrawal of German resistance in the Ruhr sparked anger amongst the people. Hitler and the Nazi Party’s rise to power was a long journey and based largely on luck. Though Hitler was an intelligent man and understood the powers and weaknesses of a politician, many of the events that led to his power were decided by others. Hitler’s journey as a Nazi lasted for close to fifteen years, and has left an infamous history behind him.
