Internet connectivity requires more than just simply installing phone cables or wireless networks. In the case of Africa, it also requires overcoming specific barriers. Some of these are lack of information co-ordination, coordination of physical connections and technical personnel co-operation furthermore, this is exacerbated by telecommunications monopolies and absolute regulatory framework, limited involvement of research institutions in network building and diffusion and language barriers.
