To what extend was children literature a political issue in the early modern period. Censorship can be defined as the act of suppressing, deleting or abstracting information and speech on any communicative form and material which may be considered objectionable, harmful or sensitive, as determined by a censor for various reasons either moral, militarily, political, religious or corporate[1]. The moral censorship is the removal of materials that might be considered obscene or morally questionable in the minds of the recipient e.g. pornography is often censored under this rationale, especially child pornography, which is censored in most jurisdictions in the world. Military censorship would be imposed as a means of keeping military intelligence and tactics confidential from getting to the enemy or the local population so that they might never know the truth about the progress of the military campaign. Political censorship is the act of a certain government of holding back some vital or necessary information from their citizens with an intention of exerting control over the populace and prevents freedom of expression that might foment rebellion. Religious censorship is the means by which any material objectionable to a certain faith is removed, ...
