This paper is going to look at one of the most significant events that followed the World War Two with respect to the United States. It will particularly discuss about the economic events which impacted very heavily on the American people following World War II. However, before discussing these events, it gives a brief summary of the World War II, and how the USA entered into the war.

World War II is a war that was fought between September 1939 and September 1945. It was the largest war in the history of mankind. Adams, (1994) says that the magnitude of this war exceeded that of World War I. More than 55 million people died and this included the military and the civilians. The main battle of the war saw the use of thousands of aircrafts and tanks, and millions of men were involved. World War II was not basically a single unitary conflict. It actually included a number of several wars that progressively coalesced into a single war as the major powers of the world drew ...





... the World War II did not only have negative consequences, but it also led decisively to the end of the great depression in the US, while at the same time creating a suitable environment for economic flourishing of the country. According to Friedberg (2000), the US did not emerge from the war only physically unhurt, but also strong economically through industrial expansion, which made the United States have a complete advantage over both its allies and its enemies.
