... shown in this discussion that descriptive statistics is a branch of statistics that lays the foundation for all statistical knowledge while inferential statistics is seen to be the heart of statistics because it is usually geared towards drawing conclusions about a population based on the data collected. It is indeed through statistics than one makes informed decisions and consequently solve problem that we encounter in our daily activities.
