School, according to elders is the most enjoyable time of our lives. However it never seems so to those of us who spend the greater parts of the day in school. There is no joy in being made to do all those uninteresting and dull activities that we spend all our time doing. It is absolutely insensible to make us do things to fit in to a world the building of which we have no say. I myself say this inspite of being fully aware that at least in theory , what school sets out to do is to prepare us to do well and make a good base for bright future in this commercial world. Thus, students should be allowed to make their own choices, atleast up to a point ...





... all aspects of our lives. It totally seems to be an all time hypocricy to teach democracy and not practise it at all in the very institutions that teach them

i agree that it is sensible to let students choose subjects themselves as they will take more interest in studying their chosen subjects and it will also lift off some of their pressure.
