In a school setting, it is imperative for teachers to establish an atmosphere of respect and camaraderie, and unity along students, co-teachers and supervisors. Any strained relationship occur among the group will contribute to the ineffectiveness of the teacher as he manages the class that hinders success in the educative process. The teacher must bear in mind that teaching is a cooperative endeavor. He is expected to interact and communicate effectively and with social graces with different people in his academic environment (Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers). Interpersonal communication skills are essential in today’’s schools where decision-making is shared and trust is built among groups. Knowing well the interpersonal communication skills by the teachers may pave the way to the solution of a perennial problem that is poor quality instruction brought about by ineffective communication and miscommunication.
