Knowledge is recognized as crucial to the success of any enterprise (Drucker, 1993; Nonaka, 1994; Nonaka and Takeuchi, 1995; Davenport and Prusak, 1998a). In order to gain competitive advantage enterprises are looking for ways of capturing, sharing and managing relevant tacit knowledge both internally and externally. During the last decade, knowledge management including intellectual property issues, information technology, and human resource management, has received a lot of attention from academics and practitioners alike. Knowledge sharing is a critical category of knowledge management, which is considered to be a complicated process (Cabrera and Cabrera, 2002). Grant (1996) argued that knowledge is generated by individuals and developed locally inside the organization. Cabrera and Cabrera (2002) also proposed that knowledge sharing is a collective process to gather the knowledge created by individuals within an organization. Hansen (2002) suggested that knowledge sharing is a crucial part of introducing best practice and reducing redundancy ...

9. Ethical Considerations
Several measures will be taken to ensure that ethical issues will be managed in a professional and proper manner. Every respondent will be expected to read the Survey Information Sheet which explains the purpose of the study and the participants’ rights. Each participant will be required to click ‘agree’ to continue with the survey after reading the consent form on the website. The researcher will have no contact with potential participants before the survey and the Ethics Guidelines as specified by the University of South Australia (UniSA) will be strictly followed.
