Executive summary Dandora Sewerage Treatment plant, located approximately 1Km north of Ruai shopping Center off Nairobi-Kangundo road, has been in operation since 1982 to treat mainly industrial and domestic sewage from the City of Nairobi and its environs. The treatment process basically involves initial anaerobic treatment followed by aerobic treatment in oxidation ponds before the effluent is discharged into the Nairobi River.
