Are you a student who is looking for some short cuts to get to know the basics of MLA style?
While it is advisable to refer to the guidelines stipulated in the teaching guidelines at Purdue, here are some simplified tips for the student who wants to use the MLA style. You can get a better idea once you download an essay from our academic library.
A standard, white 8.5 x 11-inch paper ought to be used for typing and printing your essay.
The essay must be double-spaced and the font ought to be Times New Roman.
The font size should be 12 pt.and must be recognizable.
Normally, only one space must be left after periods or punctuation marks.
See that a one-inch margin is drawn on all four sides.
Indent the first line of paragraphs one half-inch from the left margin. Use the Tab key and do not push the Space Bar five times.
The page number must be written on the upper right corner of the page, one-half inch from the top. If the instructor has asked you not to write the number on the first page do not do it.
Do not use bold letters unless absolutely necessary though titles of longer works must be written in italics.
Endnotes must be written on a separate page before the Works Cited page.
Just write the title “Notes” above.
